In 1988, the Lansing Family Farm exchanged its humble roots for a destiny very few could have imagined. However, the story only begins there. Not long after the film’s release, believers shaped, molded, and lovingly preserved what Hollywood and a brilliant novel had set in motion that previous year.

It was a cold day in late December 1987, when a volunteer with the Dubuque Chamber of Commerce (working in conjunction with the Iowa Film Board), Sue Riedel, knocked on the door bringing Don Lansing to his feet. A stranger at his door would explain, “We’re thinking of making a movie in the area on a farm. It possibly could be your farm. Would you allow us to take video of the environs?”

“What, are you dreaming, or what?” asked Don Lansing of his visitors. “The only people who come around here are insurance salesman.”

“No, we are making a movie in the area and are scouting different locations,” said Sue.

“What kind of movie?” replied Don.

“Well,” Sue explained. “It’s a movie about baseball.”

“Baseball? I like baseball. Sure. Go ahead.”

Sue said, “Thanks, we’ll be in touch.”

A chain of events the next few months would culminate in Don Lansing signing a contract for the use of his farm for the filming of “Shoeless Joe.”

The title, later changed to “Field of Dreams,” has gained world-renowned accolades not only in film, but also as a beloved tourist destination for young and old alike. A moment in time, a place in cinematic history, a mecca for anyone longing to be a part of something greater than themselves, inching toward a destiny that has no limits.

What could be more inspiring?

Ric Morgan - Actor/Producer - Upcoming Motion Picture "Imago" Set To Release In 2018

Ric Morgan - Actor/Producer - Upcoming Motion Picture "Imago" Set To Release In 2018 - Published on July 14, 2017

Ric Morgan embarked on his career in film as screen actor in 2011, and is honored to have portrayed a wide variety of characters in a fast-growing number of films, shorts, industrials and commercials. He has also done print, radio, and voice-over work.

In a previous life, Ric manned the ramparts against harm that might otherwise come to us in the night -as a lawman, counter-terrorism expert, and bomb tech. Prior to Y2K, and again after 911, Ric found himself live and on video before civilian and sworn audiences on such fascinating topics as Crisis Management, Disaster Preparedness, Active Shooter Response, and Car Seat Safety. Ric also found that he was quite comfortable in front of the camera. Then came the epiphany that performing render-safes to IEDs might just preclude him from any future creative or artistic life. Or life.

An ardent fan and withering critic of “The Hurt Locker," Ric sallied forth into the world of Make-Believe, and as a lifelong film buff, made filmmaking his new endeavor, and quest. Ric is now thrilled to be involved in the art of bringing a story to life on-screen, and also works behind the camera as producer and script consultant of independent feature films.

When not on the set delighting and exasperating directors, Ric enjoys traveling & exploring, motorcycling, surfing, sailing and fire poi. He is also an unabashed gastronaut and wine slob.

Merced Solis AKA Tito Santana - WWE Hall Of Fame Wrestler - School Teacher - Business Owner - Published on July 11, 2017

Merced Solis better known by the ring name Tito Santana, is a Mexican American semi-retired professional wrestler.

Santana has stayed a babyface (fan favorite) his entire career and he is best known for his appearances with the World Wrestling Federation between 1979 and 1993 (missing part of 1980 and returning in 1983)[7] where he was twice the WWF Intercontinental Heavyweight Champion and twice held the WWF Tag Team Championship. He also won the 1989 King of the Ring tournament, and wrestled at all of the first nine WrestleMania events, as well as helping bridge the gap between the 1980s "Rock 'n Wrestling Connection" era to the 1990s "New Generation" era.

Santana was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2004. During his time in the WWF, Santana, despite being born and raised in Texas, was billed from "Tocula, Mexico", which may be a misspelled reference to the city of Toluca. Santana still appears on the independent circuit.

Eli Knight - Royce Gracie Jiu Jitsu Black Belt Professor - Three Rivers Martial Arts Academy

Eli Knight - Royce Gracie Jiu Jitsu Black Belt Professor - Three Rivers Martial Arts Academy - Published on July 09, 2017

Eli Knight is a black belt in Gracie Jiu-Jitsu under the Royce Gracie. He has trained in various martial arts since 1992 with his main focus being Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. He is a member of Funker Martial Arts, a division of Funker Tactical as well as a Da Firma Kimono Company sponsored athlete.

Eli believes in a complete approach to training Jiu-Jitsu, both competitive sport and self-defense fighting art. He firmly believes that the sport can enhance the practitioner’s skill level in all regards by building attributes of timing, sensitivity and bodily awareness. The effectiveness of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu comes largely from the way in which one can practice the technical application of the techniques nearly identical to how one will actually use them in a fight. No other martial art has that feature so such a degree. This is why Eli Knight believes that, while it is important to understand and illustrate the distinctions between sport and street techniques, the implementation of both is important for a complete practitioner.
