Brandon Phelps is a native of Southern Illinois. His strong family ties to our communities, as well as his family’s tradition of service, are the foundation from which he has built his own career.

After graduation from Eldorado High School in 1988 and receiving his Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from Eastern Illinois University, he worked for three years in the Illinois Treasurer’s Office.

As an eight-year organizer for the Midwest Region of Laborers’ International, he fought for the rights of union members throughout Illinois. He has worked tirelessly for safe working conditions and fair wages for the men and women doing tough jobs everyday. After his first successful bid for State Representative, he supported increases to the minimum wage and remains committed to working with business leaders in his communities to attract jobs.

Working with colleagues on both sides of the aisle for the betterment of his district remains the top priority for Representative Phelps. He serves on many committees, including as Chair of Financial Institutions and Vice-Chair of Armed Forces & Military Affairs. Other committee membership includes Labor, Agriculture & Conservation, Telecommunications, Environment & Energy, Health Care Licenses, Veterans’ Affiars, Licensures Review Subcommittee, Unemployment Insurance Subcommittee, Firearms Subcommittee, and Food Products Subcommittee.

Being a father himself to his daughter, Hunter, Brandon Phelps understands the importance of giving our children the best educational opportunities. He continues to support legislation that allows for new state revenues to be dedicated to education. He listens to area educators to hear first-hand what they feel the state can do to improve our current public education system.

Brandon is serving his 5th term as State Representative. He lives in Harrisburg and is a member of Star General Baptist Church. He is a member of Loyal Order of Moose, National Rifle Association, Ducks Unlimited, and National Wildlife Turkey Federation. He is also one of only ten members nationally of the Executive Counsel of NASC, National Assembly of Sportsmen’s Caucuses, an arm of the Congressional Sportsmen’s Foundation.

Natalia Reagan is an anthropologist, writer, actress, comedienne, and cartoonist. She has appeared on the “TODAY Show,” “Fox Edge News,” “Playboy Morning Radio,” and various other radio shows weighing in on different scientific subjects, from the evolution of boobs and butts to how pheromones play a role in human mating. Natalia also is the creator of “Science! It’s Your Friend” a tongue-in-cheek web series that seeks to answer fun science questions using comedy.

I find Hamlet can really be performed anywhere.
For her thesis fieldwork, Natalia conducted a survey of the critically endangered species, the Azuero spider monkey (Ateles geoffroyi azuerensis) in rural Panama. As an actor and comedienne, Natalia has appeared in “My Name is Earl,” “Better Off Ted,” and “Sex Drive.”

Natalia’s goal is to meld her two passions by educating people about human behavior and morphology using humor, evolutionary biology, and nonhuman primates as models. Humans are faced with serious environmental consequences (e.g., climate change, mass extinctions, “super bugs”) due to our irresponsible behavior, and she believes knowledge about our origins will help us find a way to live in harmony with nature.

I come from a long line of snazzy dressers.
Natalia currently resides in Los Angeles and generally lives a “pants optional” lifestyle.

Cinderella was discovered by Jon Bon Jovi in 1985, at the Empire Rock Club in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Bon Jovi has been quoted as saying “I saw Tommy Keifer onstage delivering some pretty nifty, growling vocals. Then he whipped out this Les Paul and proceeded to lay into some astounding sounds. This guy struck me as a star right then and there.” Keifer and company experienced much success with their albums, Night Songs, Long Cold Winter, and Heartbreak Station. Keifer enjoyed the reputation of being a prolific songwriter with hits such as “Shake Me”, ‘”Nobody’s Fool”, “Gypsy Road”, “Don’t Know What You Got”, “Coming Home”, “Shelter Me”, and “Heartbreak Station”.

Unfortunately, after the Heartbreak Station tour Tom lost his voice. He underwent several operations to no avail. Eventually it was determined that he had nodules on his vocal cords and paralysis of the left cord. To make matters worse, his mother died of cancer. By 1994, Cinderella had managed to release their fourth album, Still Climbing, which received little attention. The band broke up in 1995.

Keifer continued to have surgery to remove nodules on his vocal cords. He also battled depression. He was forced to learn how to sing again because of the paralysis of his left cord, but he eventually began working on material for a solo album. The album was put on hold after Cinderella reunited in 1997 and toured in 1998. They signed with Sony Records, but were dropped a few years later. They released a greatest hits album, Once upon a… and a live album, Live at the Key Club. Cinderella toured the United States in 2000 and again in 2002.

Keifer has a daily regimen, including warm-ups and exercises, that may last longer than some of his shows; however, Tom feels that he has his condition “under control.”
